JORDAN SMITH BURSARY

Jordan Smith volunteered at Spectrum Productions in 2015 and was passionate about making a difference in the lives of autistic children and youth. Throughout her career, she sought to improve access to much needed resources for the most vulnerable around her and is remembered for her empathetic and caring spirit and unstinting drive to make a positive impact.

In loving memory of Jordan (1989-2020), family and friends have set up a bursary fund for underprivileged autistic youth to participate in Spectrum Productions programming. This is the first bursary established at Spectrum, and the family hopes it is a catalyst for more initiatives that seek to reduce systemic barriers.

REMEMBERING JORDAN SMITH

All autistic youth are welcome to apply, but the following factors will be taken into consideration when the Smith Family Bursary Committee meets:

  • Female

  • Race diversity

  • Someone under privileged or lacking financial resources to attend

  • Someone in a situation where they otherwise wouldn't access / discover such an opportunity exists or haven't been afforded full integration into autistic community before.

At this time, there is one annual bursary awarded that will cover the costs of attending a 2 week General or Youth Summer Video Production Camp. The value of this bursary is set at the annual cost of the summer camp program fees.

In 2025, the 2 week summer camp fees total $1100.
