You could be the artist we’ve been waiting to meet! Priority will be given to Autistic artists.
EmploymentWorks: My One-Year Experience
Last December, I applied to a 12-week program created by the Miriam Foundation called EmploymentWorks. I heard about it from my work agent at Action main d’oeuvres. This program assists those with disabilities, whether mental or physical, to find work. It is run by its two co-leaders, Martine and Rania, and it was amazing! Read below to learn about my experience as a participant and a mentor.
Giving Tuesday Community Highlight / Vedette du « Mardi je donne » : Bruno Ballarano
Our 12th Annual Gala and Screening fundraising campaign ends tomorrow and we are amazed by how our community came together to show their support!
ANOTHER Generous Donation: Thanks to the La Capitale Foundation!
As we near November 30th - the end of our annual fundraising campaign - we would like to highlight the very generous 3000$ donation from La Capitale. Such an amount goes a long way when it comes to our programming and services! We are amazed at how our community came together throughout this past year and are thankful La Capitale chooses to support opportunities for autism in media production.
2021 Hybrid Gala Success! / Succès du gala hybride 2021!
This year’s Gala was the most unique Spectrum Productions has ever held with a live audience in the Rialto Theatre and a virtual audience on Airmeet! It was so great to see everyone that came out to see all the epic films we created at summer camp this year, as well as some shorts from flex camp!
We just hit the halfway mark! / Nous avons atteint la moitié de notre objectif!
Spectrum Productions has reached 50% of our $75,000 12th Annual Gala and Screening fundraising goal!
This week’s Community Challenge guest: How this Spectrum Co-Founder created her own Media Organization
Check out Community Challenge host Sierra Lynne’s exclusive interview with this week’s Community Challenge guest below! Jessie Curell is the creator of Hands on Media, an organization dedicated to teaching media awareness and technology skills through interactive workshops. She has been leading Hands on Media since 2015. Before that in 2013, she was one of Spectrum Productions founding board members and was instrumental in developing Spectrum's social media strategy during her term. I got a moment to ask her about her work and where her passion for media education comes from.

OPPORTUNITY FROM AUTISTICS ALOUD TO HAVE YOUR WORK PUBLISHED
Do you have a story about a teacher in your past, present, or even future? Autistics Aloud would love to hear it! You can write about what you want teachers to know about what they can do better or what they are already doing right, what good and/or bad differences have you noticed in learning from home vs in the classroom, and how have your interactions with your teachers changed since 2020.
The Gala is back at the Rialto! In person and online!
For the 12th annual Gala, we are bringing in the community from all over! You can attend either in person at the gala or online from home! At the Rialto we will have the silent auction* and Peter will be serving hot dogs! For those who wish to join online, we are using airmeet like we did last year and you can sit at virtual tables to talk and join in the chat.
