This internship program is based on developing employment and creative skills as part of the Spectrum video production team. Positions are offered to students who show particular talent and interest in video and media production and wish to develop their skills. This program runs September to June and targets youth aged 17 and up.
This popular animation club is based on creating cartoons, stop-motion animations and small productions with a focus on fun and collaboration. Students with an interest in animation and a little previous experience can come hone their skills and learn some new tricks. Each week participants will be engaged in a small workshop aimed at furthering their repertoire of skills and exposing them to areas of animation that may be outside their current area of interest.
Spectrum Productions’ Production Club program is a kinetic, action-packed filmmaking experience designed to teach aspiring movie lovers the tools to make their cinematic dreams come true! Through workshops and collaborative projects , our participants learn the basics and not-so-basics of the filmmaking process, developing their skills in storytelling, camera movement, blocking, montage techniques, narrative strategies, sound design and lots more! Production Club your weekly two-hour foray into media arts expression packed with creativity, teamwork, and fun!
In recognition for a need to carve out an inclusive space in our programming, we launched the Girls’ Production Club in September 2018, offering girls and gender non-conforming youth aged 13 and up hands-on experience, designed to inspire them to use media and video for self-expression.
Through workshops, personal and collaborative projects, our participants learn the basics and not-so-basics of the filmmaking process, developing their skills in storytelling, camera movement, montage techniques, sound design and lots more!
Social Club takes place every Friday night at the studio. Everyone likes to relax on Friday after a big week, so why not hang out together?! At Social Club everyone hangs out, shares interests, videos, songs, and most importantly relaxes together after a long week. We also like to cook a meal and put on a movie – 4 hours of socializing, spending time with friends, learning new skills, cooking and eating – what could be better on a Friday night? Social Club will be happening every Friday during the school year, get in touch to join!
These one-on-one sessions give participants the chance to explore their creative interests through video production. Projects are based on the interests of the participant and skills are developed with active guidance from our staff.
